C-AID 2023 Howard HS

This year’s C-AID project will involve cataloguing and rehousing collections at Wilmington’s historic Howard High School. The school recently enjoyed a nearly $50-million dollar renovation, which included transforming the original 1927 library into an exhibition and collections storage space. As the only secondary school serving Black Delawareans in New Castle County for nearly a century, the school and its alumni association have maintained an important collection documenting that history, and we are excited to help them preserve and organize their holdings so that students and the broader public can access it.
